This natural healing technique is aimed at creating movement within your circulatory system, which in turn creates a knock-on effect of movement within your lymphatic system.
Your lymphatic system travels around the body in very close proximity to your blood circulatory system and so anything that speeds up circulation will help to create movement within the lymph too.
When your body is subjected to heat (a hot shower) your blood will move in greater volume to the surface of your body (your skin) so that your body, can lose heat more readily, this is to ensure an even temperature is maintained to protect and maintain the correct temperature of your vital organs.
When your body is subjected to cold (a cold shower) your blood will move in greater volume to your inner body, thus keeping your vital organs warm and ensuring a balanced temperature is always maintained.
When taking hot and cold showers you are increasing the activity of your circulatory system. In doing this you also make your lymphatic system work harder to move the stagnant fluid it contains.
Hot and cold showers can be taken any time during the day, but ideally, first thing in the morning after you have done your morning skin brush.
This natural healing technique is so good for shifting stagnation within your lymph which has been caused overnight during sleep.
Instructions:
Firstly, take your normal warm shower and wash.
After finishing your normal shower turn the temperature to cold and remain in the shower under the water until your body feels cold.
When your body feels cold, turn the temperature to hot and remain in the shower under the water until you feel hot.
Complete the process three times and be sure to always finish with a cold shower.
Such a simple and very effective natural healing technique and a great way to kick-start your day!
